Build positive relationships with residents by understanding their interests and providing consistent support, attention, and companionship. Promote and maintain resident mobility through supervision and appropriate assistance, helping to sustain or improve mobility where possible. Assist residents with personal hygiene and grooming in a respectful, dignified manner while supporting their independence. Communicate regularly with nursing staff regarding any changes in residents’ health, condition, or daily activities. Support residents with eating, drinking, and ensuring overall physical comfort. Plan, organise, and participate in social and recreational activities to enhance residents’ well-being. Maintain strong communication with residents’ families and help build trusting relationships. Contribute to maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout the home. Support the implementation of Health and Safety procedures to ensure a safe environment. Carry out any additional duties assigned by the Nurse in Charge or management. Requirements QQI Level 5 Healthcare qualification (or equivalent), either completed or currently in progress. Previous experience in a healthcare setting is desirable, with good knowledge of HIQA standards. Strong communication and active listening skills. Reliable, professional, and committed to high-quality care. Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Maintains a positive and supportive attitude.
